Dr. Josh Franco is a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Political Science at Cuyamaca College. As a first generation college graduate, introducing political science to the next generation of leaders and scholars is his mission.
He earned his Ph.D. and M.A. in Political Science and B.A. in Public Policy from UC Merced. He also hold A.A. degrees in Economics and Political Science from Cerritos College.
Additionally, Dr. Franco have 5 years of professional experience working in the California State Capitol and U.S. Congress for former Lieutenant Governor and current Congressman John Garamendi.
He is a 2024-2025 American Political Science Association Congressional Fellow.

John Vazquez is a part-time instructor of History and Political Science. A First Generation College Graduate, he received his A.A. in Economics, History, Political Science, and Philosophy from Grossmont College. He received his B.A. in Economics, History, and Political Science with a minor in Religious Studies from San Diego State University (SDSU). He received an M.A. in National Security Studies w/ concentration in Asian Studies; and an M.A. in Military History both from American Military University (AMU).
An infantry veteran of the United States Marine Corps, he took part in four deployments and conducted several operations including Haiti, Liberia (Africa) and in support of NATO operations in the Balkans.
His main interests include the study of international relations and comparative politics, national and international security, great power competition, foreign policy analysis, globalization, international law, human rights and humanitarian intervention, political economy, and anything to do with Star Wars.

Jereme Umali was a part-time Instructor of Political Science. He is a first generation college student and former community college student, he is eager to teach and share his passion of political science with students. Mr. Umali earned his M.A. in Political Science at SDSU this Spring 2020.
He also completed his B.A. in Political Science with a Concentration in Public Law at University of California, San Diego. As a San Diego native, Mr. Umali attended Miramar College and Mesa College and earned his A.A. in Social and Behavioral Sciences. He is currently a San Diego and Imperial Counties Community College Association (SDICCCA) Fellow.
