POSC Course Rotation Schedule

Cuyamaca College offers 9 Political Science courses:

  1. POSC 120 Introduction to Politics and Political Analysis
  2. POSC 121 - Introduction to US Government and Politics
  3. POSC 124 - Introduction to Comparative Politics
  4. POSC 130 - Introduction to International Relations
  5. POSC 140 - Introduction to California Governments and Politics
  6. POSC 165 - Introduction to the Politics of Race and Gender
  7. POSC 166 - Native American Politics and Policy
  8. POSC 170 - Introduction to Political Science Research Methods
  9. POSC 180 - Introduction to Public Policy


The Course are offered on the following rotation schedule:

  • POSC 120 Introduction to Politics and Political Analysis
    • Offered Fall to Health Science High Middle College students only.
    • Grossmont College offers course to all students every fall and spring semesters. 
  • POSC 121 Introduction to US Government and Politics
    • Offered each Fall, Spring, and Summer terms.
  • POSC 124 Introduction to Comparative Government and Politics
    • Offered each Spring term.
  • POSC 130 Introduction to International Relations
    • Offered each odd-year Fall term (Fall 2023, Fall 2025, Fall 2027, etc.).
    • Offered each Summer term (assuming sufficient # of students enroll).
  • POSC 140 Introduction to California Governments and Politics
    • Offered each even-year Fall term (Fall 2022, Fall 2024, Fall 2026, etc.).
  • POSC 165 Introduction to the Politics of Race and Gender
    • When approved, course is anticipated to be offered each Fall, Spring, and Summer term.
    • Estimated to be offered starting Fall 2024.
  • POSC 166 Introduction to Native American Politics and Policy
    • When approved, course is anticipated to be offered at least once two years.
    • Estimated to be offered starting Fall 2024.
  • POSC 170 Introduction to Political Science Research Methods
    • Offered Spring 2022 term during 1st 8-week session.
    • Then each odd-year Spring term (Spring 2023, Spring 2025, Spring 2026, etc.).
  • POSC 180 Introduction to Public Policy
    • Offered Spring 2022 term during 2nd 8-week session.
    • Then each even-year Spring term (Spring 2024, Spring 2026, Spring 2028, etc.).
