American Political Economy

About American Political Economy

  –American Political Economy is a new workshop series that is focused on defining, exploring, and discussing American Political Economy from the point of view of different individual, group, and organizational entities at the local, state, and national level using historical and contemporary news and events.

Summer 2022: 7 Videos

SU22: Week 1: "Overview"

By the end of this workshop, you will be able to:

  • Define American Political Economy (APE)
  • Describe how APE departs from mainstream American politics
  • Describe four areas of APE

SU22: Week 2: "Major Questions Doctrine"

By the end of this workshop, you will be able to:

  • Describe the “Major Questions” Doctrine
  • Explain how the “Major Questions” Doctrine relates to at least 1 of the four APE areas
  • Explain how the “Major Questions” Doctrine can be viewed by individuals, groups, or organizations at the local, state, or national level.

SU22: Week 3: "Bruce's Beach"

By the end of this workshop, you will be able to:

  • Describe the Bruce’s and Bruce’s Beach
  • Explain how Bruce’s Beach relates to at least 1 of the four APE areas
  • Explain how Bruce’s Beach can be viewed by individuals, groups, or organizations at the local, state, or national level.

SU22: Week 4: “American Rescue Plan"

By the end of this workshop, you will be able to:

  • Describe the American Rescue Plan
  • Explain how the American Rescue Plan relates to at least 1 of the four APE areas
  • Explain how the American Rescue Plan can be viewed by individuals, groups, or organizations at the local, state, or national level.

SU22: Week 6: “Climate Change and Energy"

By the end of this workshop, you will be able to:

  • Describe intersection of Climate Change and Energy
  • Explain how Climate Change and Energy relates to at least 1 of the four APE areas
  • Explain how Climate Change and Energy can be viewed by individuals, groups, or organizations at the local, state, or national level.

SU22: Week 7: “FRED"

By the end of this workshop, you will be able to:

  • Describe FRED
  • Explain how FRED relates to at least 1 of the four APE areas
  • Explain how FRED can be viewed by individuals, groups, or organizations at the local, state, or national level.

SU22: Week 8: “Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act”

By the end of this workshop, you will be able to:

  • Define infrastructure
  • Describe Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act
  • Explain how Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act relates to at least 1 of the four APE areas
  • Explain how Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act can be viewed by individuals, groups, or organizations at the local, state, or national level.
